What is Alpha Course?
The Alpha Course is a practical introduction to the Christian faith. It provides an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed and informal environment. It is thought provoking, friendly and fun. So come, listen, learn, discuss and discover. The Alpha Course has transformed the lives of Christians.
What’s involved?
The Alpha course consists of a series of talks. After each talk, there is small group interaction for a time of open and thoughtful discussion:
- Is There More to Life than This?
- Who is Jesus?
- Why Did Jesus Die?
- Why and How Do I Pray?
- Why and How Should I Read the Bible?
- Who Is the Holy Spirit?
- What Does the Holy Spirit Do?
- How Can I Be Filled with the Holy Spirit?
- How Can I Resist Evil?
- Does God Heal Today?
- How Does God Guide Us?
New Alpha program in St. Ignatius church from 14 February 2019, Thursdays evening 7.00 pm for 10 weekly sessions at Sacred Heart Hall.
Please do bring friends whom you wish to share the good news with but have never figured out how to; the Alpha program is also a great way for our youths to get in touch with the basics of our faith. Youths are very much welcomed.
The format is simple: Dinner (good one), Video (the best), Discuss (make friends, not ‘convert’ transactionally)
If you are prepared to commit as a facilitator for the small group discussion, contact the email below. Don’t worry if you don’t know how, guidance will be provided and there is a facilitator’s guide book. If you just want to accompany a pre-believer friend and not commit to anything, you are most welcomed.
